Nugget

First bred by the U.S.D.A. in 1970 and released in 1983, Nugget is a hybrid of Brewers Gold and a high alpha acid male. Released as a descendant of Brewer’s Gold via Oregon’s USDA breeding program in 1983, this high-alpha hop is one of the most popular bittering varieties in the U.S. Nugget Hops Profile The Nugget hop variety is generally a bittering hop but can be used for aroma as well. In our Iowa soils, it comes out as very resinous, earthy, and floral. It’s higher alpha acid content makes it well suited for bittering
